This is Love

Hold me tight, kiss me light
Dream of me tonight
And I will be by your side

Loving me loving thee
Whatever it may be
I am the honey you are the bee
It’s only you my darling I want to see

Late at night I dream of thee
The stars will bring you back to me

Memories of you warm my heart tonight
At the end of the tunnel you are my light
Thoughts of you fill my heart
And distance doesn’t keep us apart
You know my love for you it’s true
But would you catch me when I fall in love with you?

Attributes of Good Friends

Friends are like diamonds, they are forever. Friends will protect you all the time no matter what happens like the saying, “Never protect yourself with a fence, but with your friends”. They will always understand and provides you with support and care. And most of all, friends do not bad mouth or back stab each other.

Life will be much better if you have one or two genuine friends. As I have written before, true friends are like slow growing plant. They need time and love to grow in order to undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity.

Don't forget to remember friends are sincere and trustworthy. They will never lie, cheat or talk bad things about you. And last but not least, betrayal will never be in your friends’ dictionary. One should be lucky to have friends with those attributes above. Perhaps I am the lucky one. *Fingers crossed*.

Hopelessly Devoted to Grease

I went down to KL on 20th May 2006 to watch “Grease” musical. It was held at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. In my opinion, the musical was fun, colourful, vibrant and electrifying.

According to my research from Google, Grease is a popular musical made popular by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey in 1972. Few years later, a film version was made in 1978 starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

Psst… to tell you the truth, I just watched the movie 3 days ago. Yes, that was my first time watching Grease. Unbelievable, right? Well, nothing to be ashamed of considering I was born much later after the movie came out. Ha-ha... Seriously, I think I prefer the movie more.

Thunder Birds

Pink Ladies

Maybe I should hold “Danny and Sandy” dress-up party one of these days and then, all of us can perform the hand jive together. Ha-ha. I think my friends will be more than happy to attend since some of them are Grease fanatic.

Danny

All right, let’s see what the story is about. The musical takes place at Rydell High and the story was based on some of the subcultures of 1950s in the high schools. The themes of the musical includes love, relationship, and to some extent about rebellion. In addition to that, some of the social issues featured in the musical were gang violence and teenage pregnancy.

“Baby boomers and post-baby boomers in their 30s and 40s, people who paid their $3 to see it in 1978, have told me that they can't wait to take their own children to see Grease. College students still pack campus screenings of the film, and teenagers cruising the video stores have discovered the film on their own. The young kids, especially those 5 to 12 years old who have heard about "Grease" from their older siblings, have made it their own favourite,” says one of the commenter.

So, how do I like the musical? Like I mention earlier, the musical was great with its’ famous songs – Grease Lightning, Hopelessly Devoted to You & Summer Love. Oh, not forgetting the hand jive which was quite entertaining and simple to learn. Huh, I can do hand jive now too.

Other than that, there isn’t anything to shout about since the Danny Zuco in the musical is not as charming as John Travolta. Ha ha ha ha … Nevertheless, it will be fun if you go with a bunch of friends where all of you can shout and sing on top of your lungs together. That’s what I did and I had great time with my friends over there. Well, at least I can say that my RM250 was well spent.

Happy Valley

Do not get me wrong. I am not writing about the Happy Valley a.k.a. Pau Mah Tei in Hong Kong. I am talking about the café named Happy Valley here in Ipoh. The café is situated at Jalan Dato’ Maharaja Lela in front of the Ipoh padang opposite St. Michael High School.

I noticed the theme of the café evolved around “horses”. I believe this is to complement its’ name “Pau Mah Tei” remember? How do I know? Frankly, it’s obvious. But I think I can’t be too wrong since I can see a lot of photos figuring horse racing on the wall. It’s quite interesting because some of the photos dated back to the 70’s.

However, the only one that caught my eyes was this huge poster on the wall. It’s really impressive. Well, at least I am if you are not.

How do I rate the café? Well, I am no professional but I can tell the food is alright. I like the laksa very much though. I have to admit that the environment there is superb. Air-conditioned, well lighted area and of course clean.

My rating:

Food = 8/10
Cleanliness = 9/10
Service = 8/10
Environment = 9/10
Pricing = 8/10

You don’t believe me? I guess you have to go there and try it out.

"Thou shalt not date thy friend's ex". Back Off!!

Would you ever date your friend’s ex? Is it ever ok?

These two questions have been lingering in mind after reading one of the articles on relationship the other day.

In fact I agree with the author that it does not matter whether you are dating one of your friends’ exes or experienced the agony of having a friend date one of yours, many feels that you are playing with fire.

But seriously, what are the consequences? Friendship falling apart, relationship turns sour, no more girls talk on relationship, boys & sex and the list go on and on and on like the bunny in the energizer battery advertisement.

“This will never be ok for me. Right or wrong, I will feel betrayed if ever one of my girlfriends started to date my old flame,” says one reader.

“My boyfriend and I had recently broken up and I had no idea that he is going out with one of my girlfriends until she called the following week. I told her I am fine with it, but as soon as I hung up, I cried for half an hour, drown myself with alcohols and lie on the bed watching Sex and the City re-runs until I eventually fell asleep.” says another reader.

In fact I believe there are no hard rules as to what’s right or wrong in this matter. There is no right feeling to feel or what so ever. As long as your friends care enough for you, they will know what to do.

But if you can’t help and accidentally fell in love with her ex-bloke, what are you going to do? Are you going to spill the beans?

Well, there are things that you can do in order to minise the damage. According to the experts, there are few simple rules to follow:

1. Cooling period – certain elapsed time will do good;
2. Be open and honest with your friend before getting serious with their ex;
3. Try not display your affection of each other in front of your mate;
4. Save the pillow talk for your other friends (sex especially).

Or instead maybe you should decide who is more important to you, your friend or the other guy?

Love Is In The Air - Part 2
The happy couple
As a sequel of my previous blog, let me introduce the next couple. Wan Wan & May Han. As you all know, Wan Wah is a professional badminton player and he is with BAM. If you have not seen him before, I must tell you that he is a very good looking & nice guy. To tell you the truth, he also got the skills. Hey, I mean skills in badminton, ok? Don’t think of other things. May is going to kill me! As for May, she is sweet, considerate and of course a beauty. The wedding reception was held in Palace of Golden Horses in December 2005 and another one at Syuen Hotel, Ipoh in January 2006. Everyone enjoyed themselves and basically I was drunk at the end of the night when I was in KL. I guess all of us had too much to drink. Well, we had fun, very happy for May & Wan Wah and after the dinner we dance all night long.

Sexy bridemaids posing
As for the dinner in Ipoh, things were pretty much the same except that all of us looked prettier and no alcohol of course. Oh well, parents were around, so all of us had to be at our best behaviour…Hehehe…

Bridemaids and the gorgeous bride

So, that's all for now on weddings. To Roy & Frances and Wan Wah & May, “Congratulations!” and to be a bit “cina apek” “Chok lei tei pak tau to lou” and “Chi suen moon thong”….Kong Hei, Kong Hei!

Love Is In The Air…

Wedding bells are jingling in town. .

Many of my girlfriends are getting married. In fact some have already been married for quite some time now and believe it or not, they are expecting.

OMG, age is catching up and I am still few thousand miles behind. Well, I can’t be too worried about it now because sometimes you can’t push it too hard. I believe in fate and destiny. When it’s meant to be, it will be if not then just let it be.

To rewind some of the memorable events, two of my good friends got married: Lee Roy & Frances and Wan Wah & May Han. You can imagine how broke I was during that time. Hehehehe…

Lee Roy & Frances:

Their wedding was held in Clear Water Sanctuary Golf Resort, Batu Gajah and the theme for the night was “White”. All the guests have to wear white and I struggled to get hold of one. Why? I am always the lady in black. I wear black most of the time because this color makes me look slimmer. Yes, yes I know I am cheating myself. But hey, that’s just me. I want to look pretty and I am not afraid to admit it. (*Just kidding*) Alright back to the wedding reception. Finally I managed to get a white dress and of course I looked stunning in it : p. Ok, it’s time for me to stop writing and let the photos speak for it self on how fabulous the night was.

As I have mentioned earlier, I am just an average girl next door. I was born in Ipoh and graduated from Curtin University of Technology holding a degree in Accounting and Finance.

To most of the people that I know, I am an accountant. In fact I am actually a tax consultant. Yes, I know. Tax! Interesting right? Why do I join tax instead of audit? I am not too sure but I feel the tax practitioners will be highly in demand in the future. Why do I say that? Well, as you know Malaysia is on Self Assessment System now (“SAS”) in which lots of individual and corporate taxpayers would need lots of help. So, here the tax agents come to save the day because many of them especially the individuals they know nuts about tax. Please forgive me for being rude. I was just being truthful.

Why do I start up a blog? Well, I am not too sure why I do that. Maybe I was too bored since I am in a long distant relationship or maybe I was trying to prove to my friends that I can actually write good English. Seriously, I don’t know why. Whatever the reason is I don’t care because I have already started writing and I love it. Besides, I don’t think there will be any people reading my blogs anyway.

I guess this mark the start of my journey to the world of blogs….
